NGN Hits a Home Run for Lee County and the Minnesota Twins

In July, NGN completed the State requirements for Lee County to receive $30 million in Spring Training Funds to offset the costs of substantial improvements to the existing County Stadium and facilities that serve as the Spring Training home for the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club.  The firm had assisted in preparing the County’s response to the State’s call for proposals for eligibility for the funds under the newly revised Statutes and negotiated the first-of-its kind Agreement with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity for receipt of the funds, as well as coordinated with the Florida Department of Revenue for the timing of the disbursement of the funds to the County.

NGN also assisted the County with a Development Agreement for the construction of the renovations to the Stadium, a new 30-year lease with the Minnesota Twins and served as Bond Counsel for the financing of the balance of the funding required for the Stadium improvements.

The renovated Minnesota Twins Stadium and facilities are scheduled to be completed in time for the 2015 Spring Training Season.
